Napoleon Campaign Poster

Read the sections "Napoleon Seizes Power" and "Napoleon Seizes France" at the beginning of section 3 of chapter 7. Take notes the things that Napoleon did to become leader and what he did to make France stronger once he was in power.

Your Assignment is to create a campaign poster for Napoleon. Pretend you are on Napoleon's election staff and your job is to convince the French people to "re-elect" him. The theme of your poster should be Napoleon's greatness as a leader (militarily or otherwise) and what he has already done to improve France. You must include/mention the following in your poster:

1. Defending the National Convention against the Royalists

2. Military victories against European Monarchies

3. Coup d'etat (French people lost faith in the Directory)

4. Plebiscite (the French people have already shown their support)

5. Has achieved the goals of the Revolution of 1789

a. tax reform (relief for the 3rd estate) and banking system

b. creation of Lycees (schools) to train government officials and open positions of law

making to people of all classes.

c. ended corruption in government

d. Signing the "Concordat" which recognized church sovereignty

e. Napoleonic codes

Your poster needs to be attractive to voters visually. Remember you are trying to convince/remind the people how great Napoleon is.
